Memory Lane Classic Car Museum Tour

Last Updated: 08/14/2021, 07:20:15

This tour had several new tour participants, including a couple from Augusta. Nice to know our tours can be interesting enough to draw from that far away. August can be hot, but the Saturday morning 8/7 started out very comfortably, so several of the cabriolets kept the top down as we drove from Starbucks on Peachtree Parkway to Young Harris to the Memory Lane Classic Car Museum. The nice twisty mountain roads are always welcomed by Porsche enthusiasts, and this tour featured several very scenic highways.

The museum featured several hundred classic cars from our past, along with a number of one-of-a kind custom cars. In fact, everyone was absolutely blown away by the collection. If you were unable to go on this tour please note that the Rennfest location is only a few miles away and take the time to visit over Labor Day weekend. You won’t regret it. Admission is only $5, and is probably the best value you will get for you money this year. Of course, if you are not planning on attending Rennfest you can still make a trip to Young Harris to visit the museum and I guarantee it will be worth your time.

Following our time in Memory Lane we had lunch in a private dining room at Brothers Restaurant. This allowed participants to socialize and get to know each other better. Service was excellent and as usual the food there was good.
