UPDATE! CHARITABLE MISSION - Investing in Our Youth

Last Updated: 04/04/2025, 24:16:04

When we take our cars for service, we are all aware of the need for younger technicians to carry the mantle into the future, especially in the high-skilled world of Porsche service. It impacts all of us as Porsche customers, as well as Porsche dealership and independent service facilities throughout the country.

Our “What If” (Winter Presse Issue) became a reality in January when Peachstate PCA and other notable founding partners were able to steer a donor 911 (1999 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet) into the learning bay of Bartow County College and Career Academy in Cartersville, Georgia. This is a high school level Automotive Technical program, including dual enrollment with Chattahoochee Tech. They call themselves, “Gearhead Academy.”

The plan is to finish the car renovation by May, display at the Savoy Museum and other local venues, drive the Porsche Experience Center and film the entire process to be aired on Sam Mahdavi’s “Sam’s Garage” TV show and social media. End game: school will auction the finished product and use the funds to repeat the process and inspire not only their students, but other Auto Vo-Tech programs throughout the country. Porsche passion at work!

Please check out the launch of the BCCCA “Gearheads” new website (link below), which well-states their inspiration, purpose and progress. Founding Members, Project Partners and yes, a “Go-Fund-Me” section are included. Want to meet them?
