Tickets still are not on sale, but ticket information is supposed to be released Monday 8/4. If they release enough information I will open registrations for this tour Monday night 8/4. Hotel room blocks will be released September 2, so as soon as registration opens you should register to insure you get a room from our room block and tickets, which I have been assured will sell out. Registration will be here: https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/16123
Luftgekuhlt (air cooled) is a big Porsche event that has been held on the west coast for the past 10 years. This year they are bringing it to Durham on October 4. This event will pull participants from all over the country and tickets will probably sell out.
Although this tour is intended primarily for spectators, you could register your air cooled Porsche in the show. If you want to do that you will need to register it separately with Luftgekuhlt 11, but you could drive up with us and take advantage of our room blocks at the hotels.
The tour will begin Thursday with a fantastic drive up to Huntersville, NC using a combination of interstate to the South Carolina border followed by a fabulous twisty route into the mountains. We will stay in the Hampton Inn at a rate of $148.67 including tax. You will receive the registration link once you are confirmed for the event. Friday we will visit the Hendricks Auto Museum, and a Mustang Museum in Concord before continuing to Durham, NC, where we will stay at the Hiton Garden Inn Southpoint. The rate at the Hilton Garden Inn is $175 plus tax and we have a block of 15 rooms for 1 or 2 nights. Luftgekuhlt starts at 8:00 Saturday and lasts until 5:00. I expect most people will stay the second night as a result, but you could drive back to Atlanta after attending the event, which is why the hotel is being flexible on the number of nights.
If you can’t drive up with us starting Thursday, you could either drive or fly up Friday and join us for the event.
