Blowing snow made the short Rally School rally signs hard to see! Oh, wait, that was Sunday morning during the route check. Never mind. After the school for nine new Rally teams, it remained cold even though the sun was shining. It was so cold that most of the checkpoint #1 crew operated out of the Saxton truck. Thanks to Dan and Cathy Saxton, Lew Broyles, and Bob and Patti Kuchenbecker. Bob was the brave one to sit outside to blow the whistle and wave teams into the checkpoint from both directions. Perhaps the teams that came in backwards will now never forget the “completion of instructions” part of our Rally General Instructions.

Thanks to new Peachstate Rallymasters James Lyle and Scott Perkins plus Don Hand and Amy Kremer for helping at checkpoint #2. Cathy Saxton and Maureen Ringler helped Kathy run registration. Many thanks again go to Paul and Janice Phillips for providing the facility and for the after Rally party. Thanks also to Rally participant George Pearl for the excellent photos. Dorothy and Walt Simmons drove all the way from Columbus, GA (Ocmulgee Region) to place third. Maureen agreed to navigate for solo driver Jim Flowers. They came in second. Well done! The winners were car #5, Ray Crews and Linda Carver with a total score of 84 points. A lot was learned at this event including the prospects of Mr. Gorsky. Don’t miss Rally #1 on Saturday, April 6^th starting at the Publix at Hwy 92/just west of I-75 at 0900.
