Peachstate’s own Presse Editor, Mike Williford took two PCA National awards at this year’s Parade in Spokane, WA. Mike placed 2nd in class VI (larger regions and the most competitive) for the Betty Jo Turner Award for Newsletter Excellence. A cool circumstance is that Betty Jo, a Peachstate member, announced the awards that Peachstate won.

The two issues of the 2016 Presse that were judged can be seen HERE and HERE. Mike won the Best Feature Article for “Samantha’s Porsche” which can be seen HERE. Mike has made submittals for the last several years and PCA National has finally seen what Peachstate has known for quite awhile; that Mike is a newsletter talent at the highest level. Congratulations Mike, well deserved and about time!

Our own Bob Kuchenbecker, Parade Committee Concours Co-Chair and wife Patty pulled off an outstanding Concours. Danny Saxton was also busy as the Parade Competition Rules Chair organizing Protest Committees for each event.

All in, Peachstate’s name was heard in a very positive fashion on many occasions through the halls and the grounds of the Davenport Tower Hotel at the 2017 PCA Parade.
